Candy Lab: Painting & Drawing with Slowfire Ceramics- FRIDAYS

In this playful class, students will explore mixed media artmaking inspired by candy, color, and creative experimentation. Guided by Slowfire teacher Ms. Maisie, young artists will use a variety of materials—paint, paper, clay, collage, and more—to create  imaginative projects.

Students will learn how to mix textures, layer colors, and combine 2D and 3D techniques as they design candy-inspired works like lollipop sculptures, gumdrop mosaics, and sprinkle-painted pop art.

Each project encourages creativity and skill-building while introducing key concepts like composition, color theory, and form. From glossy “chocolate” finishes to rainbow “sugar” patterns, every week is a new candy-coated adventure!

All materials and kiln firings are included in the class cost — just bring your imagination!

Projects are designed to spark creativity while building artistic skills and confidence. Students will use materials such as:

No prior experience is required! Beginners will develop foundational skills, while returning artists will have opportunities to refine and grow their unique styles. If your child loves pastel palettes, expressive characters, and all things cute, this is the perfect class for them.
