EDGE is an after-school enrichment program that offers a variety of classes including science, technology, creative and performing arts, sports, etc. The program is organized and sponsored by Holmes PTO volunteers.

 

Classes run from September 14th through December 11th

 

 

NOTE: there will be no classes on 9/21, 10/12, 10/22, 10/23, 11/3, Week of Thanksgiving 11/23-11/27

 

Registration
Registration opens: Wednesday, September 2nd at 12 PM CDT
Registration closes: Tuesday, September 8th at 8 PM CDT

Payments
ALL PAYMENTS ARE DUE UPON REGISTRATION.

PayPal is the only method of payment and should be done online at time of registration. PayPal accounts can be linked to bank accounts and credit cards. PayPal allows select charges to be paid over time.

 

Scholarship Grants

There are a limited number of 80% scholarship grants available to students who currently qualify for free or reduced lunch or are in need. Scholarship grants are first come, first serve. Please submit requests to https://bit.ly/HolmesAngelFunds.

EDGE Policies

  • All students/families must adhere to the District 97 Student and Family Handbook. Violations thereof may result in the exclusion of the student from the remainder of the EDGE session or school year without any refunds. 

     

  • It is the family’s responsibility to communicate any and all health or medical issues to their child’s EDGE instructor(s). EDGE volunteers, Holmes PTO, and instructors do not have access to school medical records. 

     

  • Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 

     

  • Classes may be canceled due to insufficient enrollment. A notification will be sent via email and an alternate class or refund will be offered. 

     

  • No refunds will be issued once registration closes on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th at 8 PM CDT. 

     

  • No refunds will be issued in the event of school closing or cancellation of District 97 after-school programs. 

     

  • Classes start 5 minutes after the end of the school day. Students will be escorted by staff and/or the EDGE coordinator(s).

     

  • Authorized adults listed on the students’ Jumbula account must pick up students from the assigned classroom and show proper ID at every pickup. 

     

  • Students must be picked up on time as all EDGE volunteers and instructors need to leave the premises after the day's classes end. 

    • If a child is not picked up on time, after 5 minutes, a $20 fee will be charged.

    • For each 5 minute set after the initial 5 minutes, a $5 fee will be applied.


  • If enrolled in Hepzibah, please inform counselors of the days your child will participate in EDGE. Children may rejoin standard aftercare when EDGE programming concludes.

     

  • If a vendor does not arrive at Holmes to teach as scheduled, students will be supervised by an EDGE coordinator(s). 

 

How are EDGE registration fees used?
We pay the vast majority of fees collected to EDGE instructors. We also pay the EDGE assistants and fees associated with PayPal and Jumbula software. Any remaining funds support grants and PTO programming.
